Canopy Essential Oils are produced by Oregon Forest Canopy, a craft distiller specializing in oils made from native Oregon conifers. Based on a family tree farm in the Coast Range west of Portland, fresh needles are harvested from their own forest or others nearby within a 2-mile radius of the still. Steam distillation begins shortly thereafter to ensure peak freshness of the raw material. Both oils and hydrosols are extracted in small batches using a custom-made, stainless steel still.
